There are three railway stations in Chengdu.The trains on this route operate at the same station -Chengdu Railway Station.
However, the trains operate at ,different railway stations in Hohhot. Trains K998/K997 stop at Hohhot East Railway Station while trains K196/K195stop at both Hohhot East Railway Station and Hohhot Railway Station. Hohhot Railway Station

Hohhot East Railway Station
Buses 5 and 28 transfer passengers between these two railway stations, taking 1 hour and costing 1CNY.If you take a taxi, it takes about half an hour and costs 25 CNY.
Travel by Airplane
For such a long distance, taking a flight is the fastest way to travel from Chengdu to Hohhot. It takes about 2½ hours. Usually, two flights are available daily from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport to Hohhot Baita International Airport. One departs in the morning and the other one departs in the evening.
A flight costs approximately 250USD and discounts are sometimes available, such as 50% off. You should check the ticket prices as early as possible to see if any discounts are available.
