It rains or snows about 7 days a month for a total of 26 mm. The rain is gentle or moderate. Thunderstorms don't happen, but it snows about 2 or 3 times in December. Though most days are clear or partly cloudy, the smog makes it seem hazy or overcast.

Clothing: Wear a heavy coat to keep warm and dress in layers since there is a large temperature difference between day and night. Also some buildings are heated, and some are not. You might need to wear your coat inside.

First Bridge over the Yangtze RiverEast Lake Park
East Lake Park: This huge park near central Wuhan is a good place to enjoy. You can explore 88 square kilometers of woods, hills, gardens, and winding paths as well as one of China's best provincial museums.
Hubei Provincial Museum
The Hubei Provincial Museum: This is a good place to visit on cold days in East Lake Park. It is one of China's best museums for foreign tourists. It is a big museum on large grounds on the shore of East Lake. It is Wuhan's most popular foreign tourist highlight.
Local Dining and Shopping
Enjoy fine dining at the restaurants: When it is cold, snowy and overcast, you can eat local spicy cuisine and shop. In Hankou, the recommended restaurants are Taizi and Old Hankou because they feature the local cuisine.
Shopping: We recommend Wuhan Tiandi (武汉天地) for upscale shopping in Hankou. There is a 3-D theater.
