Wuhan Weather in June

Weather: Unlike other cities in northern central China with hot and dry summers, Wuhan is known for rainy hot weather in June. The average nightly low temperature is comfortable at 22 °C (72 °F), and the average daily high temperature is 30 °C (86 °F). The humidity at 80% makes it sweltering some days.

June and July are the rainiest months, and the rainfall in June is the highest all year round. There are heavy thunderstorms sometimes, but it is also often sunny. It is clear about 22 percent of the time. The monthly precipitation totals 225 mm, and it rains in about 13 days of the month.

The Dragon Boat Festival: People line the river banks to watch the races in which crews of competitors in long canoes paddle furiously to the beat of the drummers. This annual festival is the fifth day of the fifth Chinese lunar month, most often in June.

Visit East Lake Park for the Lotus Blossom Festival

East Lake Park has the biggest lake of any city in China and many extensive gardens. The lotus blossoms have a dreamy scent as they doze in their pads in white, blue, and red shades. Frogs provide a sonorous melancholy melody. The main garden area is at Mo Hill has 13 different gardens including one of China's best cherry tree gardens.

Learn about the Chu Kingdom

Hubei Provincial Museum is one of China's best, and it is right on the shore of East Lake. It is Wuhan's favorite foreign tourist attraction because of the quality of the artifacts. There are national treasures from the Chu Kingdom over 2,000 years old.
