1. Chengdu to Mount Emei by Train
Mount Emei is located in Emeishan, a county-level city administered by the prefecture-level city Leshan. There are two railway stations in Emeishan:
- Emeishan Railway Station: This station has trains running to Mount Emei Scenic Area. Make sure you use Emeishan Railway Station when you book your ticket as it is the closest one to Mount Emei Scenic Area.
- Emei Railway Station: This station has trains running to the city.
There are 12 pairs of bullet trains running between Chengdu and Mount Emei every day. The journey takes about 1 to 1½ hours.

When you arrive at Emeishan Railway Station, you can take bus 5A or 12 to Baoguo Temple, which is the main gate to Mount Emei Scenic Area. The journey takes about 40 minutes. Alternatively, you can take a taxi, which only takes about 10 minutes to reach the scenic spot.
Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport to Mount Emei
Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport has a railway station at Basement 2 in Terminal 2. You can get to Emeishan Railway Station from Shuangliu Airport Railway Station without leaving the airport. For flight passengers' convenience, there are seven high-speed trains departing from Shuangliu Airport Railway Station every day.

2. Chengdu to Mount Emei by Bus
It takes about 2 to 3 hours to get to Emeishan from Chengdu by long-distance bus. Xinnanmen Bus Station and Chengdu East Bus Station operate the most buses to Emeishan. A bus ticket costs from 42 to 57 yuan.
You should choose a bus heading to Mount Emei Scenic Area as some buses will arrive at Emeishan Passenger Traffic Center (which is also called Emeishan Jiuzhu Bus Station). If you arrive at Emeishan Passenger Traffic Center, you can take a taxi ride for 25 minutes to get to the scenic area.
There is a tourist bus heading to Mount Emei Scenic Area from the Wide and Narrow Alleys (Kuanzhai Xiangzi). It departs at 06:55 every day.
Xinnanmen Bus Station (新南门汽车站)
Address: 2 Xinnan Road, Wuhou District, Chengdu (成都市武侯区新南路2号)
It is 2 kilometers southeast of Tianfu Square (which is in the city center) and costs about 10 yuan to get there by taxi. It is near Exit C at Xinnanmen Station on Metro Line 3.
Chengdu East Bus Station (成都东站汽车客运站)
Address: Qionglaishan Road, Chenghua District, Chengdu (成都市成华区邛崃山路)
It is 10 kilometers east of Tianfu Square, which is 30 minutes away by taxi. You can use Chengdu East Railway Station on Metro Line 2 to get there.
3. Chengdu to Mount Emei by Private Transportation
