Weather: December's weather is cool. The average daily high temperature is 20 °C (68 °F), and the average low temperature is 14 °C (57 °F). Winter begins in mid-December or late December when the temperatures drop and dry and clear weather sets in. It is generally warm during the day, but evenings get cold.
Because it seldom rains (about 4 days each December), the month is one of the driest of the year. The mild, often sunny weather is one of the attractions of Macau during the Christmas season.
Clothing: Wear long trousers and a light sweater/jacket during the daytime, and bring a coat for the cold nights. On the whole, it is a relatively comfortable month.

For the 2017 Christmas season, a big display shaped like golden lightning with Santa Clause underneath accents the plaza, and glittering blue-white Christmas lights strung overhead and draping the buildings add sparkles to the square, the pedestrian walk, and the shops.
Hotels and casino restaurants in Macau unveil their Christmas season menus, and Christmas decorations, nativity scenes and lights abound.
The Galaxy Macau and the Venetian are where you might expect seasonal extravaganzas. The Galaxy has a Christmas parade.
The Hong Kong Winter Festival: Hong Kong puts on big events during the Christmas season, and it is only an hour away by fast ferry.
The Winter Festival is filled with stunning beauty, twinkling lights, and Western tradition. Carolers celebrate in the malls and streets. The CNN network called the Winter Fest one of the ten best events of its kind in the world.
