The Canton Fair, a.k.a. the China Import and Export Fair, happens every year from April 15 to May 5 and from October 15 to November 4. It is the largest trade fair in China with the widest variety of products and the highest business turnover.

May is a peak month for Guangzhou's tourism business, especially around the National Labor Day holiday around May 1.
These public holidays usually are the first three days of May, and the city's attractions and transportation network get crowded. Hotel room prices may be higher than usual, and transportation is also busier so that train and flight tickets are difficult to purchase.
However, after the Labor Day holiday and the Canton Fair, the rest of May is calmer with fewer visitors to Guangzhou, making it a more suitable time to visit.
We arrange Guangzhou tours for families, groups, and individuals and give you advice on the local festivals and other things that we would recommend for you.
