The weather becomes warmer and more rainfalls in the beginning of spring. The average low and high temperatures are respectively 14 °C (58 °F) and 21 °C (70 °F).
A long-sleeve shirt or blouse and a sweater or water-resistant light jacket are enough to cope with the cooler mornings and evenings. An umbrella is useful.
Guangzhou has been known as the trade fair and foreign merchant city of China for decades. Nowadays, the city is also known as a great destination for sightseeing and shopping.
March is the beginning of spring and the best time to admire the “City of Flowers”. For spring outings, the South China Botanical Garden and White Cloud Mountain are great choices. If you are traveling with kids, visit Guangzhou Zoo or have fun in Guangzhou Chimelong Tourist Resort.
The South China Botanical Garden serves as a botanical research center and a tourist attraction, preserving 13,000 kinds of plants with 430 rare species. There are also dozens of species of protected birds.
Flowers bloom there all year round, some of which are actually endangered species. The greenhouses also contain flowers of all kinds.
Spring may not be the best time to ascend the mountain but it’s a good time to enjoy a relaxing walk in some of the gardens on it. In Yuntai Garden, you can admire roses that bloom year-round or see rare flowers in some of the greenhouses.

Guangzhou Zoo is a large area you can spend hours in. Memorable for many people are the lions and other big cats, giraffes, and pandas.
Guangzhou Chimelong Tourist Resort is a wonderful place for families to visit. You may not get the chance to see every aspect of the resort in one day. A good plan is to visit the safari park in the daytime and watch a circus show at night.
This is one of the best shopping streets for both locals and tourists. You'll find jade wares and hundreds of clothes shops as well as a representative variety of restaurants and tea shops. There is also a Chinese herb market nearby.
