Zhengzhou, due to the well-developed transportation network and geographical advantage, is the transportation hub of China. Two major railways Longhai Railway (Lanzhou to Lianyungang) and Jingjiu Railway (Beijing to Kowloon) meet here. The 107 National Highway (from Beijing to Shenzhen), 310 National Highway (from Liangyungang of China's southeast Jiangsu Province to Tianshui of China northwest Gansu Province), Lianhuo Highway (from Lianyungan of southeast China's Jiangsu Province to Huoerguosi of west China's Xinjiang Province) and Jinggang'ao Highway (from Beijing to Macau) pass through the city. It boasts the largest train assembly station throughout Asia, Zhengzhou North Railway Station and a first-level airport Xinzheng International Airport.
Air
The Xinzheng International Airport is located in Xinzheng city (a county-level city of Zhengzhou), 30 km southeast from the downtown of Zhengzhou, connecting Zhengzhou with more than 40 cities of China, including Beihai, Beijing, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Guilin, Haikou, Hangzhou, Kunming, Qingdao, Shanghai, Shenyang, Shenzhen and Xi'an. It also offers chartering service to Hong Kong and Macau. It is one of the five largest airports of China. Buses from the downtown of Zhengzhou to the airport run daily every other hour. The terminal station is the Zhengzhou Aviation Hotel at the 3 Jingshui Road.
Railway
Zhengzhou enjoys the reputation of the heart of China's railway network. Two major railways Longhai Railway (Lanzhou to Lianyungang) and Jingjiu Railway (Beijing to Kowloon) meet here. Zhengzhou boasts three top-grade railway stations, namely Zhengzhou Railway Station, Zhengzhou North Railway Station and Zhengzhou East Railway Station. Zhengzhou Railway Station is located in the center of the city and is one of the largest passenger depots with direct trains to cities and autonomies of 25 provinces in China. Zhengzhou North Railway Station is the largest train assembly station throughout Asia and Zhengzhou East Railway Station is one of the largest freight railway stations in China.
Highway
The highway network is well-developed in Zhengzhou and it is one of the seven highway-hinge cities. The 107 National Highway (from Beijing to Shenzhen), 310 National Highway (from Liangyungang of China's southeast Jiangsu Province to Tianshui of China northwest Gansu Province), Lianhuo Highway (from Lianyungan of southeast China's Jiangsu Province to Huoerguosi of west China's Xinjiang Province) and Jinggang'ao Highway (from Beijing to Macau) pass through the city. The highways can reach Beijing, Wuhan, Changsha, Shenzhen, Lianyungang, Macau, Luoyang, Kaifeng, Luohe and many other cities of China.
Zhengzhou Long-distance Bus Station is located opposite to Zhengzhou Railway Station. Buses from the station to Shaolin Temple are available with an interval of half an hour. The journey is about one and a half hours. The tourist buses from Zhengzhou to Luoyang start every ten minutes and the journey takes about 2 hours. Buses from Zhengzhou city to Jiaozuo are available during the period from 5:20am to 22:20pm everyday with an interval of fifteen minutes. The journey is about two hours. There are public buses between Zhengzhou city and Kaifeng. Public bus No.101 (from 6am to 21pm), No.102 (from 7am to 19pm) and No.103 (from 6am to 22pm) can bring tourists from Zhengzhou to Kaifeng directly.
